FREDERICK E. TESCH, PH.D.

Professor Tesch specializes in the behavioral aspects of managerial effectiveness in non-profit and business organizations. As a consultant, he has provided training and consultative services to non-profit, health care, private, public, and government organizations, as well as relocation counseling for major corporations. His current consulting activities focus on helping supervisors, managers, and executives develop the skills, knowledge, and values they need for success. His particular concerns are assessing and developing leadership competencies, fostering organizational citizenship behaviors, and managing conflict situations. He teaches courses in organizational behavior, human resource management, and managerial and organizational effectiveness.

After receiving his A.B. from Amherst College, he earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in organizational/social psychology at the University of Cincinnati. He taught at the State University of New York at Albany and as an adjunct instructor at Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute and the University of Cincinnati. He has published articles on the teaching of management, motivation, communication, and interpersonal behavior in professional and academic journals. He is a member of the Academy of Management, the Decisions Sciences Institute (including its Public & Non-Profit Management group), and the Society for Human Resource Management, among others. At WCSU he is the Coordinator for the MBA program and the Associate Director of the Center for Collaboration.
